Sometimes a "solution focused" or brief therapy approach is most appropriate.
These models are geared for a shorter-term therapy process, which emphasize
the strengths and resources you already have. You will learn powerful ways to
adapt and enhance them in order to help you navigate through a currently
stressful situation, using concrete steps and goals.
Longer-term models might explore what it was like for you

and beliefs about yourself and the world you learned there.
You will begin to discern which of these is working for you
as an adult and which ones may be limiting you in your current
life and relationships. As you gain understanding about how
painful past experiences have created this sense of limits,
you’ll begin to develop the ability to accept, release and
make transformative choices for yourself. These will reflect
an enhanced sense of who you are and what you want for your
life. (Next)
